Stats & Statistics
I have found that many of us have lost our voices to make choices. We want what we feel is safe for ourselves and that of our family, but we struggle to relay those thoughts and concerns openly. For many, sharing those choices in a medical environment can feel daunting. This leaves us feeling vulnerable to suggestions and actions, that could lead to unnecessary interventions we would have never personally have chosen ourselves.
Women who have continuous support during labor are:
-
28% less likely to have a cesarean section
-
31% less likely to use synthetic oxytocin to speed labor
-
9% less likely to use any pain medication
-
34% less likely to rate their childbirth experience negatively
-
and these numbers continue to improve
