about me
Hi there! I’m Deb, a Birth Doula and Birth Educator serving East
Central Indiana, out of Anderson, where I live with my family.

I’m a mom of four incredible kids, now mostly grown. Each of my
children came with their own unique birth story. Looking back, those
experiences were some of the first sparks that led me into birth
work. The other has been my lifelong love of holistic health and the
way nature meets nurture w2in such a powerful way during
pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I truly believe birth is a major
human epicenter of both.

So what’s to know? I’m a doula who loves God and loves people. I’m drawn to what’s natural and healing, but I’m also grounded, practical, and evidence-based. I support families with calm guidance, strong advocacy, and honest education so they can feel steady, informed, and confident in their choices.

I support births in hospitals, birth centers, and home-births when a licensed CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) or trained birth care provider is overseeing care.

Between doula clients, I also serve as a home-birth midwife assistant. That role keeps me in the rhythm of hands-on birth work and strengthens the way I support families and collaborate with care teams. It also means my availability calendar isn’t always perfectly up to date, so I always recommend reaching out to ask about your due date.

Loss is something I hold close. Pregnancy loss, infant loss, and grief that overlaps with pregnancy or postpartum can be deeply complicated. My heart is to serve families in those tender spaces with steadiness and compassion. I don’t shy away from the hard parts. You can talk to me, and you will be met with care.

I completed my Birth Doula training through DONA International programs, with Robin Elise Weiss, PhD, MPH. And I continue to make education a priority. I regularly invest in continuing education in areas like physiological birth, comfort measures, communication and advocacy, trauma-aware support, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and the many ways birth impacts partners and families. This work matters deeply to me, and I believe families deserve support that is both warm and well-informed.

I also volunteer with local agencies to support young families through pregnancy and early parenting,
helping connect them with education, advocacy, and practical essentials like diapers, clothes, and
formula. I love looking for ways to advocate for a healthier community.

If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to chat, please feel free to reach out!

Warmly,

Deb j.
